Do I physically have the Abercrombie and Fitch look down?
I’m waiting tables, but I also want a second job. I was really interested in a job in the mall for retail experience. I was telling my friend that I was thinking about applying at American Eagle, Hollister, or Abercrombie. And then she told me that “You have to be anorexic and flat chested to work there.” And she also said that because I have really light blonde hair they probably wouldn’t hire me because it’s not natural looking. (Even though I’m naturally blonde…my hair is colored but that’s because I’ve done it a lot before. It’s not platinum, but almost.)
And I’m not anorexic haha, I wear a size five in Hollister jeans, and have small legs, but I also have kind of wide hips, and an hour glass body, and I’m a 36DD, my boobs are completely large in proportion to the rest of my body. I wear natural looking make up, and I’m not being conceited, but I wouldn’t call my face too bad.
So….is my body “too big” to work there?
Well, it wouldn’t hurt to apply. Every store is slightly different, and hire different people; the one near my home hired mostly Asian teenagers.
