I’m only getting 4gb when formatting a dvd +rw disk?
I know I won’t get the claimed 4.7gb but I do need about 4.4gb
and the 4.0gb that I’m getting seems a bit arbitary.
I am using memorex dvd+rw disks in an lg HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H22N ATA device on a vista x86 machine. I can’t find compatible drivers apart from microsoft generic ones.

you’ll have to wait till the manufacture supports your product. Keep checking their website, and hopefully they will release drivers soon.
Besides you won’t get all 4.7 gigs out of the disc, you’ll need to save some for overhead, and a read track for the dvd. The more data you put on the disc, the bigger the overhead/read sector will be.
