Scrap gold recovery question?
How does one retreive scrap gold from old computer componet parts,whats the process in doing this?
The method for this type of recovery involves the use of EXTREMELY corrosive chemicals and should never be attempted by the inexperienced. Some of the gases released in the process are quite toxic.
The gold from the components is put into solution and than percipitated out of that solution in a series of chemical reactions. The problem is that the cost to obtain these chemicals usually outweighs the value of the gold recovered.
