Did the US Gov’t Mint issue a new pennie design?
I found a shinier pennie than usual and it had a different design on the back. Somebody standing up.
They designed four (I think) new obverses in honor of the 200th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth in 1809. It’s for 2009 only. so you did have a new penny with a new design. The one you have shows “Lincoln’s professional life in Illinois”. Here are pictures of the rest:
