What is the value of my pcgs 1969-s penny rated pr66rd dcam?
I’m confused at the PCGS site due to it having a listing for pr66rd and a pr66dcam but not a pr66rd dcam.
…Of course if you understand this question then you probably already know more about it than I do anyways…
Either way it can not be worth much. Remember what PCGS thinks is not what the coin collecting community thinks. They think more highly of themselves than they should. I would say when it comes to real rare coins they are close, but modern high grade proof coins are a very common item. I see them at $10 or $15 all the time and it cost more to have them graded and slabbed than that. The grading companies from time to time change their system or actually screw up. I would go with the deep cameo for that value should be the highest. As you notice I don’t have a great deal of confidence in PCGS or even NGC. I do use ANACS once in a while just to make sure the coin is real. I like to have them check out the colonial coins as well as say a 1916-D dime. They are the best at that. I can grade coins myself and don’t need to pay someone else. One of these days the grading companies will fall due to the outrageous prices paid for a coin that is only one point higher and that is actually someone opinion not scientific fact. Grading is a long way from a science. So go with which ever one is the most money.
