My family were robbed and the insurance company say they need more proof.?
We were robbed a couple of weeks ago. All of our housekeeping money was taken, all my savings, my brother’s car fund, jewelerey passed down through the family.
It was totally traumatizing and before you judge, my savings were locked in a safe hidden in the back of my wardrobe. They ripped everything out, broke into the safe and literally emptied it out. I tipped it up and a single five pence piece fell out. They’d taken nearly £100 I’d be saving since March, some of it birthday money I’d received a couple days before.
The other money was safely hidden but they turned the place upside down. My parents said not to worry as the insurance would cover everything.
However, the insurance company say they need more proof, but how can we proove it to them?
They say they need receipts, photographs – who keeps them?! The robbery was trauamatizing enough without this. I’m a fourteen-year-old kid. How can we proove our loss to them? I just want things back to normal!!!
So sorry about the trauma you experienced but with most insurance companies claims department, this is just business for what they need. Lots of insurance companies experience phoney set-up events to file claims and this is total wrong doing. So when they ask for paperwork, get them what they need and this will take you out of the “phoney” situation. You may experience an insurance detective coming to the house at some time. Also, your family needs to start questioning people who have been in and around the house. How would they have known where to go exactly to look in the house to tear up and find their loot. Insurance companies tend to ask these sophisticated questions; so don’t be surprised if your friends or other family members get placed under the hot light.
